Effect of the Secretin on the Pentastri n induced Gastric Secretion in Rats.

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was carried out to assess the effect of secretin on the pentagastrin-induced gastric secretion in rats.
The results as follows
1) The pH of gastric juice was significantly decreased after pentagastrin infusion. During the secretin infusion, the pH was significantly increased compared with pentagastrin infusion alone.
2) The titratable acid output of gastric juice was significantly increased- and the peak titratable acid output was 31.8± 5.8uEq/15 min. at 45 minutes after pentagastrin infusion.
During the secretin infusion, the titratable acid output was significantly reduced compared with pentagastrin infusion alone.
